When the dust settled at the 2024 Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge, one name rose to the top of every leaderboard: Chase Beckley. Taking home 1st Overall, Top Canadian, and Top Junior, Chase made a statement not just for himself—but for the next generation of Canadian precision rifle shooters.
At just 14, Chase represented Team Apex with consistency, focus, and quiet confidence. But ask him what made the match memorable, it’s not just the trophies.

“The 2024 Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge was outstanding. My gear ran flawlessly all weekend, and the mix of top-tier shooters and a welcoming community made it one of the best matches I’ve been to. It’s challenging, well-run, and easy to attend—even if you’re coming from the U.S. Come with an open mind, ready to learn. You’re seriously missing out if you don’t make the trip.”
The Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge has quickly earned its place as a must-attend event on the North American PRS calendar. With a sprawling venue, a wide range of stage designs, and a layout that demands both technical skill and smart decision-making, it’s a true test for shooters at every level.
“There were some outstanding shooters that had an amazing chance to win the match,” said Beckley, “Getting to compete with shooters with that level of experience and see what they do well was great as a seasoned competitor, and if you’re just starting out. It’s truly a match for the whole family to attend.”
In terms of his win, Chase shared his training regimen, challenges and highlights he faced through the weekend.

“Winning a Pro Series match felt amazing—but taking 1st Overall at the Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge, with the tough winds and unforgiving targets, made it even more rewarding. I trained hard for months leading up to it—tons of dry fire and practicing the most unstable positions I could think of. My mindset was simple: focus on myself, not anyone else. There were highs and lows—I even zeroed a stage—but I stayed in the zone and kept moving forward. One of my best moments was cleaning the barrel stage, a prop I’d unknowingly trained on for months. That consistency is what carried me through the weekend.”
Apex Optics Vice President, Carlee Krtolica, could not have been prouder of Chase’s accomplishment, both as a Team Apex competitor and a key player in the growth of this sport.
“Everybody in the Western Canada shooting community has watched Chase grow up in the Precision Rifle Series community; we’ve watched him put in the work, we see how hard he practices, and we see how seriously he takes this sport. Having a Canadian win the 2024 Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge was incredible, and having it be Chase Beckley was significant to not only our team but everyone who competed at the match. This was only the beginning of ProSeries podium wins for Chase; I have no doubt about that, and we are looking forward to seeing what he brings to this year’s event.”
